2001 Berghold Syrah

A rich, full-bodied classic red Rhone varietal which has intense, forward blackberry and raspberry fruit aromas and reveals smoky, gamey, spicy characteristics. It is 100% aged in the finest American oak barrels for complexity and a supple texture and is delicious upon release. While wonderful on its won, this wine complements, many foods including beef, lamb, duck and especially the fresh, rustic, brightly flavored dishes of the Mediterranean.
